Seargent Adven Htar was stationed off-world when the Imperial Navy bombarded his home city from orbit as a “necessary measure to ensure the destruction of a secret rebel base.” Upon learning that his entire family was wiped out he went AWOL. He sold military codes to a local crime boss to secure a fake ID and travelling money, and as Ven Rath paid a Rodian smuggler to get him to the Outer Rim.

Initially Ven hated the Rebel Alliance almost as much as the Empire for the loss of his family. However, it later became clear that their was no secret rebel base and it was all a ploy to weaken the planetary government to gain easy access to resources in that system.

After drifting from planet to planet for a few years he tried to settle down and start a business on Tattooine. The business failed and his creditor sold his debt to Teemo the Hutt.

Now Ven works for Teemo as a bodyguard, who pays him just enough to keep ahead of his interest payments.

Every time Ven has attempted to pinch and save to get ahead on his debt Teemo has made sure to arrange it so that Ven is worse off than before (e.g. extorting his landlord to raise the rent, getting him blamed for some minor property damage, etc.), so Ven has stopped trying.

Ven plans to escape Teemo’s service with his friend Bok, another former Imperial, and Bok’s friend Guido (who he could swear he’s met before). They’ve even acquired an unlikely ally in Teemo’s favorite killbot, HK-S1. After it revealed that it had overheard their plotting they thought they were done for, but the assassin droid explained in no uncertain terms that it would be accompanying them (or else). How could they say no?
